Taj Mahal in the fog: Tourists are disappointed with the spoiled view
Due to unfavourable weather conditions in northern India, the Taj Mahal was covered with a thick layer of fog. Thus, tourists who came to the northern Indian city of Agra could not see the view of the world-famous monument.
WION reported that the Royal Gate, known as Darwaza-I-Rauza or Lady Diana's Bench, which serves as the main entrance to the Taj Mahal, was also covered in fog. It is noted that this name was given to the place thanks to a famous photograph taken by Princess Diana during her visit to the mausoleum in 1992.
Due to unfavourable atmospheric conditions, the country experienced significant difficulties with transportation and about a dozen trains were delayed. At the same time, near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, visibility dropped to 125 metres, causing delays to approximately 186 flights.
According to the local Department of Meteorology, over the next 5 days, the region is expected to experience persistent thick fog that will last both in the morning and in the evening, with sunny weather expected only in the afternoon.
In addition, on January 1, rains are predicted in Agra, which will also significantly complicate the situation for locals and tourists who come to explore the city.
