Sun Country Airlines Expands Fall Schedule and Adds Exciting New Destinations
Sun Country Airlines has announced an extension of its booking schedule through December 10, 2024, opening up reservations for the fall season, including the much-anticipated Thanksgiving and Minnesota’s school break from October 17-20. The airline is enhancing its flight roster to include popular destinations starting later this summer, signaling a strategic expansion in its operations.
In a significant move to widen its network, Sun Country will introduce flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) in California and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire. This expansion brings the airline’s nonstop service offerings from MSP to over 100 destinations in 2024, marking a milestone in its journey to provide an extensive selection of travel options to its customers.
Grant Whitney, the Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, expressed pride in the airline's growth, stating, “Sun Country proudly offers nonstop service from MSP to more than 100 destinations in 2024, giving our customers, and community an unparalleled breadth of destinations for a leisure airline." This expansion is part of Sun Country Airlines' commitment to providing safe, reliable, and affordable travel options, now operating 122 routes serving 108 airports across the United States, Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Caribbean.
The new service to Monterey, set to commence on August 8, 2024, opens doors to the enchanting Central Coast of California, known for its mild climate and access to the scenic beauty of Carmel-by-the-Sea, golfing at Pebble Beach, the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, whale watching, and numerous wineries. Similarly, the service to Manchester, New Hampshire, launching on the same date, offers travelers the quintessential New England experience with its autumn foliage and rich American history, positioned just 55 miles north of Boston.
Moreover, Sun Country is set to introduce limited service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) beginning in March 2024. This strategic addition aims to convert flights designated for charter aircraft positioning into available seats for customers, showcasing Sun Country's innovative approach to maximizing efficiency and meeting customer needs through its diversified business model, which includes scheduled service, charter, and cargo.
The airline’s onboard experience is designed with passenger comfort in mind, featuring state-of-the-art seating, full-size tray tables, comfortable recline, in-seat power in most seats, and complimentary in-flight entertainment and beverages. Sun Country also highlights local Minnesota and Midwest-based companies through its onboard menu, offering a taste of the region's finest products.
Sun Country Airlines continues to redefine the hybrid low-cost air carrier model, connecting guests with their favorite destinations and creating memorable experiences. With its focus on leisure and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) passengers, charter customers, and cargo services for Amazon, Sun Country is poised for further growth, connecting more people to their favorite places across the United States, Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Caribbean.
