Starbucks wants to conquer Asian audience with pork-flavored coffee
Starbucks is looking to win over Asian audiences with a new drink: coffee with braised pork, a combination released to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year, which this year pays tribute to the dragon.
The company admits that it is an "interesting" flavor, but has no doubt that it will be a success. This drink combines Dongpo sauce with the flavor of stewed pork with espresso and steamed milk. In addition, there is an option to add additional pork sauce and pork breast to the garnish, according to the company's description in the delivery application, USA News writes.
The drink can be purchased at any chain of stores. Its price is 68 yuan ($9.45), as indicated in the app, the publication reports.
During the Lunar New Year, China records millions of travels, and it is a date that people use to travel or visit their places of origin.
Although the dishes served at Lunar New Year parties vary by region, stewed pork is one of the classic dishes on the tables of thousands of Asian families.
As TravelWise wrote, Starbucks customers can get free refills at their favorite coffee shop.
