Southwest Airlines Strikes Deal with Flight Attendants' Union
In a recent development, Southwest Airlines Co. has reached a Tentative Agreement with the Transport Workers Union Local 556 for a new labor contract covering approximately 20,000 Southwest Airlines® Flight Attendants.
Adam Carlisle, Vice President of Labor Relations at Southwest Airlines, expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, "Southwest's Flight Attendants play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our Customers while embodying our renowned Southwest Hospitality. I am pleased that they will have the opportunity to vote on this new agreement."
TWU 556 will be disseminating detailed information regarding the agreement and the forthcoming voting process directly to the Flight Attendants. Notably, since October 2022, nine Southwest® workgroups have ratified new agreements, with the contract status for all workgroups available on SWAMedia.com.
