Ryanair will introduce 6 new routes to Hungary in 2024
In the summer of 2024, Ryanair will add 6 new routes to Budapest. Additionally, the company will base an additional 2 aircraft at Hungary's Ferenc Liszt Airport.
As a result, Ryanair could become the largest airline operating flights to and from Hungary. This was reported by the Budapest Business Journal.
The new flights will serve popular destinations such as Frankfurt am Main, Faro, Milan, Skiathos, Trieste, and Tirana. It is anticipated that this expansion will connect the country with 66 destinations and increase the total number of passengers carried in 2024 to a record 5 million.
According to Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary, it is estimated that the number of passengers per year could increase by up to 22% compared to last year. He also mentioned that this decision would "support" 4,000 jobs in Hungary (directly and indirectly), including 300 "highly paid" Ryanair pilots and flight attendants.
Earlier, TravelWise reported that Ryanair recorded a decrease in profits due to lower flight load.
