"Worm Rain": Delta Air Lines flight was disrupted due to a disgusting situation on board
Delta Air Lines flight 133 from Amsterdam to Detroit was grounded due to maggots discovered in the cabin. The finding caused panic among the passengers onboard, leading to the decision to turn the plane around after one hour of flight.
It was found that a cluster of larvae was located towards the rear of the aircraft. Subsequently, it was revealed that the larvae originated from spoiled fish, as reported by Yahoo News.
Passengers noticed an unusual smell in the cabin and observed maggots falling onto them and remaining on the seats. Some passengers also expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of response from the flight attendants regarding the situation.
"They were all sitting in the crew area laughing and talking when we were on the plane for almost three hours and we weren't even offered water," said a passenger named Kelsey in a post on X.
Ultimately, the aircraft returned to the airport, and passengers were accommodated on the next available flight. The plane was then taken out of service for cleaning, and Delta acknowledged their fault, attributing it to improperly packed carry-on luggage.
