Qatar Airways and Our Habitas Debut "Our Habitas Ras Abrouq" on Qatar's Pristine West Coast

Qatar Airways Group, in a significant partnership with Our Habitas, has announced the opening of "Our Habitas Ras Abrouq," a luxury desert resort located on the golden West Coast of Qatar. This new venture is set near the Al Reem UNESCO-Designated Biosphere Reserve, about an hour's drive from Hamad International Airport in Doha, offering guests unparalleled views of the Arabian Gulf against the backdrop of spectacular golden sunsets. The opening ceremony, highlighted by the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, VIP guests, media, and creatives, marked the unveiling of this unique hospitality project.

"Our Habitas Ras Abrouq is not just a destination but an invitation to experience the Qatari desert's breathtaking beauty in a way that's never been offered before," said Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group. This sentiment is echoed by Our Habitas co-founder Oliver Ripley, who emphasized the shifting travel preferences towards more meaningful connections with culture, nature, and each other.

Positioned at the edge of the UNESCO-protected Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve, renowned for its lunar landscapes and the iconic Richard Serra sculpture, the resort aims to provide a unique blend of art, culture, music, wellness, and adventure. From one-to-four-bedroom villas with private pools and expansive decks overlooking the Arabian Gulf to a suite of amenities including an on-site restaurant, Qissa, a beach club, wellness centre, and adventure sports facilities, the resort promises a comprehensive luxury experience.

The resort's proximity to Richard Serra's East-West/West-East sculpture adds a cultural dimension to the stay, courtesy of a collaboration with the Qatar Museums Authority. Additionally, guests can engage in a range of workshops and activities, from pottery and sunrise yoga to water sports and desert exploration, facilitating a deep immersion into Qatar's rich cultural and natural heritage.
