Passenger gets angry at "selfish" traveler for leaving suitcase on plane
A Reddit poster shared his irritation with another passenger after they struggled to find a place for their suitcase. The traveler criticized the guy for trying to sneak his suitcase onto a crowded flight, but things went awry when social media users reacted to his irritation.
The passenger asked for their opinion on the situation, claiming that they were among the last to board the plane when they noticed their fellow traveler trying to sneak in a suitcase. Unfortunately for the nervous tourist, the plane was already packed to capacity, and most people were trying to find a place for their bags. This was reported by dailystar.co.
Most airlines allow you to take a small suitcase into the cabin to place it in lockers that are locked from above. But this often depends on the availability of seats, because if the cabin is overcrowded, your luggage may be moved to the luggage compartment.
However, the man's difficulties, mainly with finding a place for his suitcase in the lockers, seem to have irritated the poster's authors. On Reddit, they explained: "He was standing in the aisle, not allowing everyone else to take their seats. He spent a good minute looking for a seat. He couldn't find any nearby. He decided he had to go to the front of the plane to find a seat in a previously unexplored overhead compartment."
To get there, he waved at other people crowding the aisle to move back – but they were unable to do so because the aisle was full and there was little room to move. The guy apparently assumed that people could have just moved aside.
They continued: "I probably would have tried to help if he had apologized a little bit, but the nonchalance of his hand wave was outrageous. I looked at him and said: "What do you want me to do here?" He wrinkled his nose and replied sarcastically: "Enjoy your flight."
The user wrote that he knew it was a "difficult situation" and added that it was the airline's fault for not providing enough space for luggage. However, the crew asked people to check their luggage at the gate for free because the plane was overcrowded – meaning his suitcase was safely stored in the luggage hold at the bottom of the plane.
