On 20 March, the world celebrates the International Day of Happiness: Which country is in the top
Every year on March 20, the world celebrates the International Day of Happiness. The holiday was launched on June 28, 2012, at the initiative of the United Nations, but the idea was put forward by Jayme Illien back in 2011. He noted that the day of the vernal equinox is a great opportunity to remind all people how important it is to feel happy.
And the happiest people live in Finland. That's what the United Nations believes, at least. Today, they published the World Happiness Report, in which Finland was ranked first for the seventh year in a row.
Denmark and Iceland took the second and third places. Russia was ranked 72nd in the ranking. The last, 143rd place, traditionally went to Afghanistan.
Six key factors were taken into account when preparing the World Happiness Report. These include GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, freedom, job security, and the absence of corruption.
