New luxury sea cruises: 8 liners that will be travelling already in 2024
The demand for cruise travel is growing along with the demand for discovering new places and ways to relax. According to forecasts, this travel year has already been identified as one of the most successful for the cruise industry ever.
In addition, new cruise ships are accelerating this trend and are actively competing to provide new experiences for passengers. Forbes found out what routes new luxury ships will provide in 2024.
Celebrity Ascent
This is a new ship that has already made its maiden voyage in December 2023. This liner corresponds to the Edge class, namely, an outward-facing design, cabins with convertible indoor/outdoor spaces, and The Retreat class amenities with a rooftop garden. In addition, there are 30 restaurants with dishes from five-star chef Daniel Boulud. This summer, the ship will sail to Greece, Turkey, and the Italian Riviera.
Ilma, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
The vessel is the second addition to The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, which accommodates 448 guests in 224 beautifully designed staterooms. It is noted that this vessel was designed specifically to create comfortable conditions for a sense of space in the cabins. In addition, a spa, a swimming pool, and a humidor can be found on board. This year, this new ship will sail to the Greek Islands, the Amalfi Coast, the French Riviera and Monte Carlo, and next year to the North and Baltic Seas.
Queen Anne, Cunard
The cabins of this ship are designed in such a way that guests can feel like dignitaries or members of the royal family. The cabins of this ship were designed by the Parisian design firm Sybille de Margerie, which is known for its sophisticated works. The special atmosphere of this ship will be experienced by 3,000 passengers, led by Cunard's first female captain,Inger Klein Thorhauge. She will lead Queen Anne to the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
Silver Ray, Silversea
This summer, the new 728-passenger Silver Ray will sail along the coast of Italy, with stops in Croatia and Montenegro, and spend the rest of the season in the Mediterranean. This vessel is designed with a large addition of glass so that passengers can enjoy panoramic views and feel more open space while travelling. This ship will operate on an all-inclusive basis and will sail to 39 voyages, including the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India, the Indian Ocean and Africa.
Viking Vela
On this new ship, 998 passengers can experience amenities such as heated bathroom floors and Freyja toiletries and panoramic views in the rooms. In addition, due to its maneuverability and relatively small size, this ship will be able to stop at most ports, including Rome, Athens, Pompeii, Crete and Naples.
Sun Princess, Princess Cruises
This ship is one of the most modern and largest on the list. It can carry 4,300 passengers and has a Dome entertainment centre with a Santorini-style terrace, as well as a 30-seat Spellbound theatre in the Victorian style, which was designed under the influence of the famous Hollywood Magic Castle. This year, it will sail in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Disney Treasure
The liner will be the sixth addition to the Disney Cruises fleet. It will travel around the Eastern and Western Caribbean islands for 1,254 guests. It is noted that Disney Treasure gives the feeling of a fairy tale and immerses in the unique world of well-known Disney characters.
