Marriott International Expands Presence in Beijing
In a significant development, Marriott International, Inc., has inked a strategic agreement with Beijing North Star Company Limited to introduce The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Marquis Hotel brands to China National Convention Center in Beijing. Set to open its doors in 2026, The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North, and Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel will mark the third installment of The Ritz-Carlton and the debut of Marriott Marquis in the Chinese capital.
This groundbreaking agreement aligns with Marriott International's 'Brand + Destination' development strategy, showcasing the company's commitment to sustained growth in key cities across Greater China. Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer, Greater China, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the broad portfolio of premium brands and experiences that will be offered to meet the diverse needs of travelers.
The China National Convention Center Phase II, boasting a sprawling 780,000 square meters, will house the two hotels along with retail spaces, offices, and leisure facilities. The complex is strategically located approximately 20 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, offering convenience to both domestic and international travelers. Notably, key attractions such as the National Stadium (Bird's Nest), the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum are within walking distance, enhancing the overall appeal of the destination.
Designed by the renowned Yabu Pushlberg Inc., The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North is envisioned to feature 282 sophisticated guestrooms and suites. The hotel will offer an array of dining experiences across six distinct venues, complemented by recreational facilities like an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa. With well-equipped conference and event spaces spanning 968 square meters, the hotel aims to cater to both leisure and business travelers.
Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel is set to boast 671 guestrooms and suites, accompanied by diverse culinary options, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty dining, and a lobby bar. The hotel will feature a swimming pool, fitness center, and an expansive 3,207-square-meter conference and event spaces, including a Grand Ballroom, Junior Ballrooms, meeting rooms, and an executive club lounge – M Club. Guests can anticipate Marriott Hotels' signature service, blending modern design and enriching experiences for both business and leisure travelers.
