Lufthansa Launches New Airbus A350 with Allegris Cabin on North American Routes
Lufthansa is set to enhance its long-haul flight experience to North America with its newly delivered Airbus A350-900, equipped with the advanced Allegris cabin. This first of its kind aircraft, registered as D-AIXT, arrived at Munich Airport from Toulouse Blagnac Airport on April 13, 2024, marking a significant upgrade in passenger comfort and sustainability.
The new Airbus A350 joins two other aircraft equipped with the Allegris cabin, signaling a move by Lufthansa to standardize a luxury travel experience across its fleet. This latest aircraft features a blend of first, business, premium economy, and economy classes designed to offer unparalleled comfort and service.
The Allegris cabin is notable for its sustainable aviation fuel usage, which comprised 17% of the fuel mix on its inaugural flight to Munich, emphasizing Lufthansa’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The cabin configuration includes three first-class suites, 38 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 201 economy seats, accommodating a total of 267 passengers.
Lufthansa’s introduction of the Allegris cabin on the Munich to Vancouver route in May 2024 promises to redefine luxury air travel. With weekly flights planned between these destinations, passengers can expect an elevated travel experience that combines comfort with environmental responsibility. The Allegris-equipped Airbus A350-900 offers a stark contrast to Lufthansa’s typical A350 configurations, featuring fewer business and more economy seats, tailored to the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
Despite previous delays due to supply chain issues, Lufthansa plans to introduce over 80 new long-haul aircraft with the Allegris cabin, including upgrades to existing widebody jets like the Boeing 747-8. This strategic enhancement aligns with Lufthansa's vision to lead in luxury air travel and operational sustainability.
