For the first time in history, a woman, Erin Wagoner, has become the director of Carnival Cruise
For the first time in the history of Carnival Cruise Line's cruise fleet, a woman, Erin Weigand, was appointed as a director. She is set to assume the position in the next few weeks.
It is noted that the position of "director of the cruise fleet" was introduced by the company just 2 years ago. Thus, the company will have its fourth director of its cruise fleet, as reported by Cruise Hive.
"I'm very excited to begin the next phase of my career at Carnival as Chief Cruise Officer!" Weigand wrote on her Facebook page.
It is reported that prior to her promotion and this contract, Erin Weigand worked as a cruise director aboard Carnival Spirit, Carnival Sunrise, the now-defunct Carnival Sensation, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Dream, and other ships. Later, in 2018, she became a cruise director for Carnival Cruise Line.
About her work and experience as a cruise director, Weigand said: "I am honored to be a part of such a unique and talented group of people, each of whom brings something different and special to the role. What we do is not always easy. But I can tell you this... We all do it because we love it".
