Europe's highest suspension bridge opened in Italy
A new Tibetan suspension bridge called the highest in Europe, was inaugurated in the central Italian region of Umbria. This bridge is located midway between the cities of Foligno and Spoleto.
The structure, which is suspended 175 meters above the valley floor, is more than 517 meters long with 1023 steps. It will take an intrepid visitor from half an hour to 45 minutes to walk across the suspension bridge that connects the villages of Sellano and Montesanto, according to the WantedinRome magazine.
It is emphasized that the bridge has a gap between each step, "which increases the adrenaline rush" and that crossing the structure requires "a lot of courage and a sense of adventure."
Visitors brave enough are equipped with safety belts that are attached to the Tibetan bridge as they walk across it from one end to the other.
Visitors must be at least 120 cm tall, according to the website, and be in "good mental and physical health and not suffer from altitude sickness."
The bridge will be open all the time, both in summer and winter. Tickets cost 25 euros and can be purchased online by selecting a time.
