In a significant move to enhance tourism flows, Emirates Airline has entered into strategic collaborations with the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) and the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO), signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during ITB Berlin 2024. These partnerships aim to amplify inbound tourism to Greece and Austria, enriching the airline's extensive European network.

"We're eager to work alongside GNTO and ANTO, driving visitor numbers to these captivating destinations. Our commitment is reflected in our continuous efforts to increase connectivity and presence in the Greek and Austrian markets," he stated.
Boosting Greece's Tourism Appeal
The collaboration with GNTO focuses on leveraging Emirates' global reach to promote Greece across critical markets such as the US, UAE, Australia, India, and China. Joint marketing initiatives will aim to elevate Greece's tourism brand, aligning with GNTO's strategic goals for 2024. This partnership underscores Emirates' dedication to fostering Greece's tourism sector, following a robust demand for international travel to the region.
Dimitris Fragakis, GNTO’s Secretary General, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, emphasizing Emirates' role in enhancing Greece's visibility. "With Emirates' global network and excellence, we're poised to showcase Greece's rich cultural heritage and diverse attractions to a wider audience, making it a year-round destination," he remarked.
Furthermore, Emirates has broadened its connectivity within Greece through a codeshare agreement with AEGEAN Airlines, facilitating easy access to various domestic destinations and enriching the travel experience for Emirates’ customers.
Promoting Austria as a Premier Destination
The MoU with ANTO is set to promote Austria as an enticing travel destination, drawing in visitors from the UAE, Australia, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan. Emirates plans to initiate marketing and advertising campaigns to boost awareness and attract diverse visitor segments, leveraging its global network to spotlight Austria's unique attractions.
Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger, CEO of Austrian National Tourist Office, lauded the MoU's role in fostering tourism growth. "Our collaboration with Emirates is a testament to our mutual commitment to advancing Austria's tourism industry," she stated.
As part of its commitment, Emirates has resumed its iconic A380 service to Vienna, offering increased seat capacity and enhancing the travel experience between Vienna and Dubai. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Emirates' operations to Austria, further solidifying its dedication to the Austrian travel market.
