Emirates and TUI Cruises are expanding their partnership for the next two seasons
On the first day of ITB Berlin, Emirates and TUI Cruises announced the extension of their partnership for another two seasons, considering Dubai's strategic efforts to develop cruise tourism. The partnership involves joint efforts to provide passengers with convenient and timely flights that align with cruise schedules.
This collaboration between Emirates and TUI Cruises not only strengthens the connection between Germany and Dubai but also creates new travel and leisure opportunities. Passengers will now have the opportunity to book flights that seamlessly fit into the cruise schedule, as reported by GulfNews.
A joint statement from the companies indicates that services will be enhanced.
"The airline will also explore enhanced transportation solutions between Dubai International (DXB) and Rashid Port, utilize the information to improve ground services, and provide a dedicated support team for cruise passengers," the publication quoted the statement as saying.
It is noted that Rashid Port's Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal, the world's largest single indoor cruise terminal, can accommodate 14,000 passengers per day.
Additionally, special customer packages will be created to highlight the best aspects of traveling to Dubai and TUI's cruise programs in the region. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by representatives of Emirates Airline and TUI Cruises - Adnan Kazim and Wibke Meyer.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President, and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, noted that this agreement aims to increase the number of cruise passengers who choose Emirates Airline for their sea travel on TUI ships.
Meanwhile, TUI Cruises CEO Wubke Meyer highlighted the successful cooperation with the airline from the outset.
"We have been visiting Dubai with the Mein Schiff fleet for over a decade to offer our guests the opportunity to discover the world of the East," he emphasized.
In 2023, Emirates transported nearly 400,000 cruise passengers to Dubai.
Last year's cruise season in Dubai was the most successful yet, welcoming more than 166 ships, making it the largest port in the region for cruise ships. The exciting 23% increase in cruise passengers for the next season reflects the joint efforts of tourism and aviation partners.
Passengers will benefit from convenient customs and entry procedures, seamless visa opportunities, and a wide range of shops.
TUI Cruises plans to send two ships to Rashid Port next season, each with a capacity of over 2,500 passengers. They will offer two different programs covering the Gulf countries and Asian destinations, providing diverse and exciting travel experiences.
