Dublin Airport welcomed 2.1 million passengers in January
Dublin Airport had a busy start to the year: 2.1 million passengers passed through its terminals.
In January, 16,800 flights arrived and departed from Dublin Airport with an average load factor of 78%. Departing passengers enjoyed a seamless experience throughout the month: 98% of passengers passed through security in less than 20 minutes, according to the carrier's official website.
According to Kenny Jacobs, CEO of the airport: "The cold and dreary weather in Ireland during January resulted in thousands of people deciding to escape to warmer climes. For vacationers, flights to the Canary Islands proved popular throughout the month, as well as routes to Central and Eastern Europe."
According to him, the beginning of 2024 was also marked by a strong flow of business passengers. January brought challenging weather conditions, with both freezing temperatures and destructive storms.
"I would like to thank our snow and ice removal teams who continue to skillfully cope with the vagaries of winter weather, ensuring that passengers can get on the road," said the CEO.
