Delta Resumes Direct Flights to Venice, Enhancing U.S.-Italy Connectivity

Delta Airlines is reigniting the travel spark between the United States and Italy by resuming its nonstop flights from New York-JFK to Venice Marco Polo Airport. The reinitiated service, leveraging a Boeing 767-300 aircraft equipped with 216 seats, is scheduled to operate daily, promising passengers a seamless and comfortable journey across the Atlantic.

This service reinstatement marks a significant step in Delta's efforts to expand its international footprint, particularly in the transatlantic corridor. Moreover, the airline is set to bolster its Italian operations with the introduction of two additional flights from Venice to Atlanta. This move not only resumes the airline's nonstop services but also introduces a second flight during the summer, culminating in a total of 17 weekly flights between Venice and the U.S. during peak travel season.

Delta's decision to increase flight operations between Venice and the United States reflects a strategic response to the growing demand for travel and connectivity between these regions. According to Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, the enhanced service lineup underscores the airline's commitment to providing customers with more travel options and the unique opportunity to explore one of the most enchanting cities in the world. Curcio highlights Venice's immense appeal to U.S. travelers, emphasizing the flights' potential to boost tourism, foster trade opportunities, and offer unparalleled travel experiences.

Camillo Bozzolo, Aviation Development Director of the SAVE Group, echoed Curcio's sentiments, noting the resumption of Delta's flights to New York and Atlanta signifies the robust growth of travel flows between Venice and North America. With passenger volumes surpassing 2019 levels, the additional Venice-Atlanta frequencies are expected to further diversify destination offerings and enhance connectivity across the Americas.

Delta is not just focusing on increasing flight frequencies but is also committed to elevating the in-flight experience. Passengers have the luxury of choosing from four distinct product experiences, ranging from the premium Delta One to the comfort-driven Main Cabin. Noteworthy is the Delta One service, where passengers can indulge in lie-flat seats, enjoy premium amenities, and savor a chef-curated meal, all aimed at making the transatlantic journey as comfortable and memorable as possible.

In addition to service expansions, Delta is investing $12 billion in airport terminal enhancements, including new premium lounges at key U.S. locations and upgrades at JFK Terminal 4, to ensure a seamless and enjoyable travel experience from start to finish.
