Citizens of Jordan can apply for British tourist visas through the electronic system
Jordanian nationals wishing to enter the UK now have access to a new, simplified method of applying for entry clearance. This development was announced by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, highlighting the transition to electronic visa applications for travel to the UK. The changes took effect after February 22.
Once issued, the e-visa will be valid for two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. In case of any changes to the passport, such as renewal or replacement, the applicant will have to reapply for a visa. "This initiative is evidence of ongoing efforts to strengthen friendly ties between the participating countries," writes travelandtourworld.com.
Moreover, not only Jordanians will benefit from this agreement; citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are also among the first to utilize the electronic travel authorization system in the UK.
This enhancement in the visa regime is expected to significantly boost tourism by streamlining the entry process for Jordanian and GCC nationals.
By reducing the bureaucratic hurdles associated with traditional visa applications, the UK is poised to welcome more visitors from these regions, fostering greater cultural exchange and tourism growth.
As Travel Wise previously reported, starting from August 15, 2023, the Vietnamese authorities will allow citizens of most countries (including Ukrainians) to apply for a visa online. Now this process has become much easier.
