Carnival Cruise Line fleet expands with the addition of Carnival Firenze
Carnival Firenze has officially become the latest addition to the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, marking a significant milestone as the fleet now boasts an impressive 27 ships. The handover ceremony took place this morning in Cadiz, Spain, where team members from both Carnival Cruise Line and sister line Costa Cruises convened on the ship's bridge to celebrate the seamless transition.
The upcoming months will see Carnival's dedicated team undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment project on Carnival Firenze. This initiative aims to integrate the beloved features that Carnival guests have come to cherish, with an added touch of Italian flair.
Scheduled to commence year-round voyages from Long Beach, Calif., on April 25, 2024, Carnival Firenze will offer a diverse range of sailing options. These include three- and four-day sailings to Mexico and Catalina Island, along with five-, six-, and seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera, featuring ports of call such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.
Upon boarding Carnival Firenze, guests will find themselves surrounded by Italian architectural influences both inside and out. The ship's atrium, for instance, mirrors the splendor of Florence's main public square, Piazza del Duomo, while the Lido deck draws inspiration from the charm of the Italian Riviera. The culinary experience on board is set to be a highlight, with popular Carnival Venezia venues such as La Strada Grill, Tomodoro, and the newest addition, Il Viaggio, offering a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. Bars Amari and Frizzante will serve up a variety of Italian specialties, providing a delightful complement to the overall experience.
Carnival Firenze will also feature a range of activities and programming, including the lively Festa Italiana, a deck party where Little Italy meets Lido, the Captain’s Venetian Toast, and Italian-inspired youth programs for kids and teens. Guests can expect to find familiar activities and experiences from other Carnival ships, such as the Heroes Tribute Lounge, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Java Blue Café, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Carnival WaterWorks.
Christine Duffy, the president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed her excitement about the new addition, stating, "The beauty of Florence, Italy is about to meet the FUN of Carnival Cruise Line! We are elated to welcome Carnival Firenze to the Carnival fleet, joining her sister Carnival Venezia to showcase ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style.’"
With the addition of Carnival Firenze, Carnival Cruise Line continues to offer passengers an unparalleled blend of exhilarating fun and cultural richness, promising an unforgettable cruise experience.
