Cambodia banned melodic car horns: the reason will surprise you
Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Maneth ordered a ban on melodic car horns when he saw a video of people dancing on roads and roadsides to the sound.
Hun Maneth called on the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the police to "take immediate action" against any vehicle that has a regular horn replaced with a melodic one, namely to tear out the latter and restore the standard type of signal, The Guardian writes.
The Cambodian prime minister believes that recent posts on social media demonstrate "the inappropriate behavior of some people, especially young people and children, who dance on the roadside to the musical sounds of truck horns."
According to Manet, dancing affects public order and creates a traffic hazard.
As TravelWise reported, Cambodia plans to offer long-term visas for foreigners.
