Boeing Champions the Invictus Spirit: A New Chapter in Supporting Veterans
Boeing has officially announced its commitment to the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, stepping up as the Global Presenting Partner alongside Canadian powerhouse ATCO. This partnership not only brings Boeing to the forefront of supporting international wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women but also marks a significant investment in the Invictus Games Foundation. The foundation is renowned for its comprehensive support programs focusing on mental and physical recovery for veterans globally.
The Invictus Games, set to unfold from February 8-16, 2025, promise an exhilarating mix of winter sports including alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, Nordic skiing, skeleton, and wheelchair curling. These winter disciplines will complement the traditional core sports of the Invictus Games such as indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball, making the Vancouver Whistler 2025 edition a pioneering winter hybrid of the games.
Cheri Carter, Vice President of Boeing Global Engagement, emphasized the deep-seated connection between Boeing and the armed forces community, stating, "Current and former servicemen and women play a vital role in communities around the world and are an integral part of Boeing's identity." Carter highlighted Boeing's dedication to empowering these heroes on their journey to recovery, underlining the importance of the partnership in celebrating their indomitable spirit.
Dominic Reid OBE, CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation, lauded Boeing's ongoing commitment, noting the company's respect for the armed forces and focus on recovery and employability. Reid pointed out, “Their particular connection to our work beyond the Games helps ensure our sport recovery opportunities are available year-round for all members of our community."
This partnership is built on Boeing's long history of supporting veterans and their families, following its sponsorships of past Invictus Games in Sydney 2018, The Hague 2020, and Düsseldorf 2023. Scott Moore, CEO of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, expressed excitement about Boeing joining as the Global Presenting Partner, highlighting Boeing's longstanding support for veterans and the Invictus movement.
In 2023, Boeing's commitment to veteran support was evident through contributions exceeding $12.3 million towards veterans' workforce transition, recovery, and rehabilitation programs worldwide. In Canada, Boeing's partnerships with Veterans’ House, True Patriot Love, Citadel Canine Society, and Perley Health showcase its dedication to Canadian Armed Forces veterans and their families, further solidifying its role as a leader in veteran support.
