Avianca Elevates Barranquilla Carnival Experience with Over 34,000 Passengers
In an impressive demonstration of connectivity and cultural celebration, Avianca, the official airline of the Barranquilla Carnival, soared to new heights by transporting over 34,000 passengers to the heart of Colombia's most vibrant festivity. Between February 1 and 13, the airline facilitated the journey of carnival enthusiasts with more than 237 direct flights linking Barranquilla with major cities such as Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Miami.
According to Travel2latam, this year's carnival was not just a display of Colombia's rich cultural tapestry but also a milestone for Avianca, as it played a pivotal role in the festivities. The airline's presence was highlighted at the iconic Battle of Flowers, where it hosted a stage, and further cemented its cultural contributions by participating in the float celebrating the Centennial of the Colombian Football Federation. This float brought the nation's football legends to Barranquilla, all of whom arrived courtesy of Avianca's flights, underscoring the airline's commitment to supporting and promoting Colombian heritage and sports.
David Alemán, Avianca's Sales Director, expressed pride in the airline's involvement with the carnival, emphasizing the importance of such events in bringing people together and enhancing the travel experience beyond the flight itself. "Being the official airline of this version of the Barranquilla Carnival allowed us to be part of this celebration and be in the streets with the more than 34,000 travelers who chose us for their visit to this city to enjoy the carnival," Alemán remarked. He further highlighted Avianca's mission to encourage more people to travel by air, viewing these types of events as vital opportunities to connect with customers on a deeper level.
Avianca's roots run deep in Barranquilla, the city where it was founded 104 years ago. The airline has consistently nurtured this connection, now offering 131 direct weekly flights to the capital of Atlántico. This enduring relationship not only showcases Avianca's commitment to its origins but also its dedication to facilitating access to one of Colombia's most significant cultural celebrations. As the Barranquilla Carnival continues to attract visitors from around the globe, Avianca's role as a bridge between cultures and communities remains a testament to its legacy and future in Colombian and international aviation.
