Alaska Airlines Strengthens Ties to Bay Area with Direct Flights from Santa Rosa/Sonoma County to Las Vegas
Alaska Airlines is bolstering its presence in the San Francisco Bay Area by introducing convenient, nonstop flights between California's renowned wine country and Las Vegas, commencing this autumn. Scheduled to launch on October 1st, this daily, year-round service marks the airline's seventh nonstop route from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.
Having been the primary carrier at Sonoma County Airport since 2007, Alaska Airlines holds a special connection with Santa Rosa. "Alaska became the inaugural airline to introduce commercial service to Sonoma County Airport nearly twenty years ago," remarked Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Alaska Airlines. "Since then, we've proudly served as the largest airline at STS, catering to nearly 2 million travelers. As the sole carrier servicing all four Bay Area airports - Santa Rosa, San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland - we eagerly anticipate facilitating connections between Santa Rosa and Las Vegas, providing passengers with our premium, award-winning service.
"H. Fletch Brunelle, Vice President of Marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, highlighted the allure of Las Vegas for travelers from Northern California's Wine Country. "Las Vegas offers visitors a plethora of unparalleled experiences and attractions," he noted, citing world-class restaurants, A-list entertainment, and a vibrant sports calendar. "We are thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines' latest nonstop service from Sonoma County to Las Vegas this fall."
Alaska Airlines' Wine Flies Free program, initiated in 2007, facilitates travelers in bringing home their favorite bottles of wine from Santa Rosa/Sonoma County. Recognizing the challenges associated with shipping wine directly from wineries or incurring hefty shipping fees, Alaska's Wine Flies Free initiative allows Mileage Plan members to check an entire case - up to 12 bottles of wine - free of charge.
