A&K is launching a new river cruise ship on the Nile
Abercrombie & Kent is constructing a new riverboat for Nile cruises in Egypt. The 32-cabin vessel is currently under construction at an Egyptian shipyard and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.
The luxury travel operator plans to launch the ship in late 2025, expanding its Nile fleet to five vessels. A&K already operates the Nile Adventurer, Sun Boat III, Sun Boat IV, and Zein Nile Chateau on the river, as reported by Travel Weekly.
The name of the new riverboat, which will be available for private charters, will be announced in the coming months, according to the company.
A&K has a longstanding connection with the Nile, dating back to 1977 when the company's founder, Geoffrey Kent, launched the first luxury river cruise on the Nile after being inspired by a meeting with actor David Niven on the set of the movie "Death on the Nile."
"No one knows Egypt better than Abercrombie & Kent," said A&K Travel Group CEO Cristina Levis. "We pioneered luxury Nile cruises more than four decades ago, and each year we continue to enhance this magical journey, delivering extraordinary experiences at every stage of the journey, accompanied by Egyptologists and storytellers who help bring Egypt's vibrant history to life."
