AirAsia Enhances Singapore-India Air Travel with Expanded Network and Seamless Service
AirAsia marks a significant milestone in its Singapore operations, celebrating 20 years of service with a major network expansion to 12 cities across India. This enhancement is facilitated by the airline's Fly-Thru service, offering a more convenient and seamless travel experience for passengers connecting between Singapore and India.
In a recent announcement, Logan Velaitham, CEO of AirAsia Singapore, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative. “We are thrilled to facilitate affordable travel between Singapore and India, reinforcing our commitment to providing competitive low fares," he stated. The expansion into the Indian market is a strategic move for AirAsia, driven by popular demand and the airline's dedication to enhancing connectivity.
The Fly-Thru service by AirAsia enables passengers to travel between Singapore and India with ease, promoting increased arrivals at Changi Airport. It offers the advantage of not having to collect or re-check in baggage during transit stops in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok (Don Mueang), streamlining the travel process.
Velaitham highlighted the strong and multifaceted relationship between Singapore and India, encompassing tourism, economic, political, and cultural ties. With Singapore being a key trade partner for India and vice versa, this expansion is poised to further strengthen these connections. Additionally, the growing demand for leisure travel between the two destinations is a focus area for AirAsia, promising more travel options and seamless connections for passengers in the future.
To celebrate this expansion and offer travelers more opportunities to explore India, AirAsia has introduced a FREE SEATS promotion, featuring special fares to four Indian cities: Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, Trivandrum, and Ahmedabad. Promotional fares start from as low as SGD173 one-way, with bookings open from 19 to 25 February 2024 for travel between 1 September 2024 and 18 June 2025.
AirAsia's network now includes 12 Indian cities accessible from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur, with the addition of new destinations like Trivandrum, Jaipur, Visakhapatnam, and Ahmedabad. The airline also offers connections through its Bangkok (Don Mueang) hub to various Indian cities, further expanding its footprint and providing travelers with an extensive range of travel options.
