AirAsia Announces Special Fixed Fare Flights for Hari Raya Celebrations
In a significant move to facilitate Malaysians' journey back home for the Hari Raya festivities, AirAsia has launched an ambitious initiative, offering over 22,000 seats at fixed low fares. This initiative aims to connect families and loved ones across Peninsular and East Malaysia through affordable late-night flights, a testament to AirAsia's dedication to fostering reunions and joy during this special time of the year.
From April 5 to 17, 2024, travelers can take advantage of these special fares, flying between Kuala Lumpur and cities such as Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, or Miri; and between Johor Bahru and Kuching, Sibu, or Miri at a fixed one-way fare of RM298. Additionally, routes between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, or Tawau; as well as Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu are available at a fixed one-way fare of RM348. These promotional fares are a part of AirAsia's broader effort to support the government's initiative to make festive season travel more accessible and are available for booking on airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app.
Further amplifying its commitment, AirAsia is also scheduling 122 late-night flights to 11 routes between Peninsula and East Malaysia, alongside operating 735 regular flights weekly to Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. This comprehensive approach underscores AirAsia's role in ensuring Malaysians can celebrate Hari Raya with their families, regardless of geographical barriers.
The initiative has received commendation from YB Anthony Loke, the Minister of Transport, who highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to ensure affordable air travel. Emphasizing the collaboration between the government and industry players like AirAsia, Minister Loke expressed his support for the Fixed Fares initiative and the broader aim of making festive travel inclusive and convenient.
Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, reflected on the significance of Hari Raya as a time for joyous reunions and the airline's pride in facilitating these moments. The fixed fares initiative is a clear indication of AirAsia's commitment to making travel affordable and accessible for all, particularly during the festive season, which is among the busiest periods for the airline.
