Accor and ADEME Join Forces to Accelerate Ecological Transition of Group's Establishments in France
Accor, a global hospitality leader with over 1700 hotels in France, and ADEME, the Agency for Ecological Transition, have entered a three-year framework agreement to support and expedite the ecological transition of establishments under the Group's brands in France.
This collaboration holds strategic significance for both parties, reflecting their mutual interest in effectively addressing the challenges of ecological sustainability. While Accor has been actively pursuing a sustainable development strategy for over 30 years, emphasizing priorities related to caring for nature and people, this new initiative with ADEME aims to bolster their efforts.
With the complex ecological landscape, increasing regulation, and evolving customer preferences, the tourism and hospitality sector must take more decisive steps. Accor is already actively engaged in international initiatives seeking common solutions to environmental and societal challenges and striving to set new standards in the industry.
The three-year agreement entails several key areas of focus, including decarbonization of establishments, support for sustainable mobility and food sustainability, as well as certification under the European Ecolabel. These steps will aim to create more environmentally responsible establishments, which, in turn, will enhance reputation and attract customers. Moreover, each area of focus will be accompanied by experts from ADEME, ensuring a high level of professionalism and effectiveness in project implementation.
This agreement not only demonstrates Accor's acceptance of responsibility for its environmental footprint but also provides support and resources for its owners, helping them implement the most advanced ecological solutions and technologies in practice.
