Abu Dhabi Airport has officially changed its name
Abu Dhabi International Airport has officially been renamed Zayed International Airport.
As of February 9, 2024, it will be known as Zayed International Airport, in honor of the founder and first president of the UAE, as reported by Arabian Business.
Zayed International Airport will continue to be served by 28 airlines.
Etihad Airways is commemorating the renaming of its home airport to Zayed International Airport with special offers on international flights.
The airport's name change coincides with the opening of Terminal A in November 2023, which serves as the airline's new state-of-the-art home terminal.
Arik De, Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer, stated: "We take great pride in our home, Abu Dhabi, as it serves as the ideal hub for global exploration. We are forever indebted to the visionary leadership of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and we are honored to participate in these celebrations as our home airport is renamed in his honor."
To commemorate this historic event, Etihad Airways has introduced a special offer for passengers departing from Abu Dhabi to selected destinations.
This offer is valid until February 14th for passengers traveling between February 19th and June 15th, 2024.
