A strange discovery: Corn snake spotted in Ireland
A horrific discovery has been recently made in the Irish city of Cork right on the street. One of the workers there found a live snake.
The video was recently posted online by a worker in Cork. The incident is described in a video published by Storyful.
A man named Colm Twohig filmed an unusual moment when a brightly coloured snake was spotted crawling near a railroad track. Interestingly, snakes are not known to live in the wild in Ireland.
"I came across the snake when I was working at the Cork train station," the man said. According to him, the snake was about 90 centimetres long.
In turn, James Hennessy, director of the National Reptile Zoo, identified the reptile as a corn snake and said it was a very common pet. Hennessey added that the snake is "completely harmless" and does not pose a risk to the public.
According to the Smithsonian National Zoo and the Institute for Conservation Biology, corn snakes are indigenous to the eastern United States.
Life in Australia can surprise you not only with the diversity of animals and plants. As TravelWise wrote, huge termites can be found in the country's national parks.
