A Norse Atlantic plane en route to London had its windshield cracked during the flight
A windshield on a Norse Atlantic airplane cracked during a flight. The incident occurred on December 30 last year, when the Boeing 787-9 was flying from Orlando, Florida, to London, United Kingdom.
The crack reportedly appeared on the left side window, but from the outside, which avoided depressurization. According to Simple Flying, the affected aircraft is not even six years old.
The windshield cracked when the Boeing 787-9 had been in the air for 2 hours and 50 minutes. The crew reportedly noticed a loud explosion and flash in the front of the cabin.
The pilots reported the incident to the controllers, and after consultation, it was decided that the flight would fly to its final destination as the cabin pressure remained normal.
When the plane landed in Gatwick, London, it was sent for maintenance. All the checks and repairs, according to the newspaper, took 50 hours.
