A new attraction for tourists and locals has opened in the UAE: what it looks like
The city of Sharjah has inaugurated a new lake, Al Hefaya, which is expected to become a popular attraction for residents and visitors. The attraction, which also serves as a strategic water reservoir, stretches over 132,000 square meters.
Visitors can stroll along the 3.17-kilometer, two-lane road around the lake, enjoying the fresh air and enchanting scenery. For the youngest guests, there is a 620-square-meter play area, Khaleejtimes reports.
Al Hefaya Lake is an innovative project that uses modern technology. It is connected to the mountains by pipes that collect rainwater and excess water from the lowlands, ensuring that the reservoir is filled.
A mosque in the Fatimid style was also built on the shore of the lake, which can accommodate 495 worshippers. Decorated with geometric and floral motifs, the building harmoniously complements the surrounding landscape.
The 500-square-meter Al Hefaya Recreation Center offers enchanting views of the lake, mountains, hanging gardens, and waterfalls. Green spaces and a play area make this place ideal for families.
As previously reported by TravelWise, Abu Dhabi is launching a large-scale development program designed to turn the city into a tourist paradise.
