A groom could not go on honeymoon vacation due to passport damage
A passport is one of the most important documents when travelling. Therefore, you need to take special care to protect it from various types of damage as it can prevent you from attending important events in your life. This happened to a couple of newlyweds who were going on their honeymoon trip to Turkey. However, they could not get on board the plane because they found that the groom's passport was... wet.
The Malaysian couple spent three and a half thousand dollars on the trip to celebrate their wedding. This was reported by the Malaysian edition of mStar.
The newlyweds were denied check-in because the groom's passport was wet. Muhammad Fikry Azman and his wife Nur Amira Fatin Norazmi, the newlyweds, said that they started saving money after the engagement. But unfortunately, they cannot return it.
According to Fikry, the passport got wet in a downpour. Although the document was in a bag and a special case, it did not help it stay dry. The next day, he had to go to the airport and was surprised to find that the passport had not dried and was still wet. He tried to dry it in the airport bathroom but to no avail.
The U.S. Department of State informs on its website that passports damaged by water must be replaced and cannot be used again after getting wet. To replace a document, you need to make a personal application.
