On October 26, 2025, Zurich Airport will publish its winter schedule for 2025/26. The schedule includes flights to 169 destinations in 71 countries, operated by 58 different airlines. The update adds three new routes and makes some existing services more frequent. The changes are meant to meet the growing demand during the winter season while keeping stable connections across Europe, Asia, and long-haul leisure destinations. The timetable will remain effective until 28 March 2026.

From 19 December, Edelweiss and several other airlines will introduce new and expanded services from Zurich:

  • Luleå, Swedish Lapland – weekly flights operated by Edelweiss.
  • São Vicente, Cape Verde – once weekly on Wednesdays.
  • Praia, Cape Verde – once weekly on Thursdays.
  • Pristina, Kosovo – daily flights by easyJet.
  • Bristol, United Kingdom – twice weekly by easyJet.
  • Muscat, Oman – four weekly flights by Oman Air.
  • Abu Dhabi, UAE – 16 weekly flights by Etihad Airways.

Luleå lies along Sweden’s northern coastline and serves as the main gateway to Swedish Lapland, one of Europe’s most distinctive winter destinations. The city is known for its frozen coastline and is a good place to start exploring the Arctic. The ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi, northern lights tours, and nature walks in the snowy countryside are all within easy reach. The new flight connection will make it easier to reach northern Scandinavia during the busy winter months.

The two new routes to Cape Verde will open direct access to the Atlantic archipelago for Swiss travelers. São Vicente and Praia have volcanic landscapes, beaches, and cultural experiences, and the weather is milder all year long. These links help off-season tourism by connecting Zurich to new island destinations that offer a mix of beautiful scenery and real local traditions. The flights are scheduled weekly, expanding Zurich’s southern network beyond traditional winter markets.

The new winter schedule for Zurich Airport shows that the airport is more interested in having a variety of routes and making them easier to get to than just expanding. Airlines are responding to changing travel patterns and seasonal demand by offering trips to both Arctic and tropical destinations. Merging regional and leisure routes expands travelers’ winter options, from seeing the northern lights to relaxing on sunny shores. It also makes Zurich a more important transit hub in Central Europe.
