WestJet Group Expands Winter Schedule, Boosting Connectivity Across Canada

The WestJet Group, which includes both WestJet and Sunwing Airlines, has announced its comprehensive 2024/2025 winter schedule, solidifying its position as Canada’s premier choice for leisure travel. This winter, the airline will offer Canadians access to 63 transborder and sun destinations, expanding services to popular sunny, transborder, and intercontinental locations.

John Weatherill, WestJet Group’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the airline's commitment to providing a broad network of affordable domestic air services while ensuring easy access to popular winter escape destinations. "By adding more seats and affordable fares across our entire network, we are giving Canadians choice and flexibility this winter," he stated.

WestJet and Sunwing Airlines will offer more seats to sunny destinations than any other Canadian airline, covering numerous nonstop routes to destinations in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. This winter, The WestJet Group will increase its capacity compared to last year, showing significant growth across all regions.

Domestic Growth Highlights: WestJet will operate numerous daily departures on unique domestic routes, enhancing east-to-west connectivity across the country. The airline will also maintain a significant share of all domestic air service within and between Alberta and British Columbia, offering more unique routes between Eastern and Western Canada than any other airline.

Leisure Growth Highlights: WestJet continues to expand its leisure offerings with new winter services to Tulum, Mexico, and Grenada. The airline leads with a large share of flights connecting Canada to Hawaii and offers the most flights to Arizona and Las Vegas. Additional capacity increases to Latin Caribbean destinations include routes from Kelowna, Winnipeg, Regina, Victoria, Calgary, and Edmonton.

Furthermore, WestJet will enhance service to popular intercontinental destinations with nonstop, year-round service to Tokyo, and daily connectivity to Paris and London via its global hub in Calgary.

Increased Capacity to Delta Hubs: WestJet will increase its capacity to Delta Air Lines’ hubs, providing seamless access to numerous U.S. destinations via Delta's network from Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.
