Vilnius has brought back one of its most unusual city viewpoints, as the panoramic restaurant inside the TV Tower has reopened after renovation. Paukščių Takas, also known as Milky Way, is not just another dinner stop with a nice window. The room slowly moves as guests eat, turning the capital’s skyline into part of the meal, especially at golden sunset.

What Has Reopened Above Vilnius

  • Venue: Paukščių Takas, or Milky Way, panoramic restaurant
  • Location: Vilnius TV Tower, Lithuania’s capital
  • Reopening: 3 July 2026, after renovation
  • Height: 165 metres above the city, on the 66th floor
  • Rotation: full 360-degree turn every 55 minutes
  • Opening hours: daily, 11:00-22:00
  • Booking: advance reservation required before visiting; walk-ins only if tables are free on arrival that day

The renewed restaurant focuses on contemporary Lithuanian cooking, built around local and seasonal ingredients rather than a standard tourist-view menu. Its wine list has a deliberate twist: bottles are chosen from vineyards at least as high as the restaurant itself. Lithuanian producers are also included, with the tower using cool climate and long daylight as part of the story behind the glass.

At 326.4 metres, the Vilnius TV Tower is Lithuania’s tallest structure, and the visit is not limited to the restaurant. The building also houses the Fight for Freedom exhibition, linked to the January 1991 events, while newer features include panoramic apartments, the Edge Walk at 170 metres and the Toliai bistro-bar one floor above the restaurant.

The reopening gives visitors an easy way to pair dinner with views of the Neris River, the UNESCO-listed Old Town and Gediminas Castle Tower without planning a separate viewpoint stop. Summer balloon flights still offer the bolder angle over central Vilnius, but the restaurant is calmer, weather-proof and better suited to anyone who wants the city slowly unfolding with dessert or a late drink.
