Patatas bravas

This is a familiar potato cut into uneven slices and deep-fried with olive oil. In Spain, this dish is an appetizer that is usually served with mayonnaise or salsa brava aioli, which is a mild and spicy Spanish tomato sauce with paprika.

Churros

Churros are an appetizer made from fried choux pastry dough that has a spiral shape. It is sprinkled with sugar and sometimes dipped in melted chocolate. This dessert is usually eaten for breakfast.

Gazpacho

This is a very popular dish that is known far beyond the borders of Spain. Basically, it's a cold tomato soup made from ripe tomatoes, red peppers, and garlic. These ingredients are blended in a blender until silky, a drizzle of olive oil is added, and served with a crusty baguette.

Calcot

Calcot is an onion that resembles leeks but has a more delicate flavor. This onion is very common in Spain, where it is cooked over an open fire, wrapped in newspaper. This dish is eaten with a salvitxada sauce made from tomatoes, almonds, garlic, pepper, vinegar, and olive oil.
