For tourists traveling with Transavia, a low-cost airline, new rules for paying for hand luggage will soon be introduced. Starting in April, a fee for hand luggage will be introduced.

This decision was made by the airline following similar steps taken by other low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet. These airlines have already introduced hand luggage fees, as reported by DutchNews.

Passengers will have to pay 10 euros for hand luggage weighing up to 10 kilograms. This innovation is being introduced to encourage passengers to check their luggage, thereby speeding up boarding.

"In addition, the policy change is necessary as we face ever-increasing costs," Transavia said. The airline emphasizes that they have to pay more and more for emission rights, and maintenance costs are also rising.

According to the new rules, Transavia aircraft will only be allowed to carry baggage up to 55 x 35 x 25 cm in size, and up to 70 pieces in the cabin. However, small bags that fit under the seat can still be carried free of charge.

It is emphasized that this is not the first time Transavia has introduced baggage fees for passengers. Back in 2020, a fee was introduced for passengers who wanted to ensure that their bags would be carried in the cabin.
