Low-cost airlines set limits on the size and weight of hand luggage that passengers bring on board, and sometimes this can lead to unexpected consequences. One man, who hadn't calculated the size of his suitcase but didn't want to pay extra, literally smashed it to make it the right size.

Although the video with the crazy "life hack" and cheerful music made some users laugh, others noted that airlines should be ashamed that tourists are forced to resort to such methods. The video was posted on TikTok, where it received over 200,000 likes and nearly 5,500 comments.

The viral video shows a passenger trying to push his red suitcase into a metal gauge at the check-in counter to convince the staff that his bag fits the norm.

However, the luggage did not give in for a long time as it was obstructed by wheels and a handle, which the man mercilessly tore off.

He beat the suitcase on the floor, kicked it, and tried to crush it to remove unnecessary sentiment. After breaking the handle into several pieces, he managed to stuff the suitcase almost to the end of the size basket.

Airport staff and other tourists who were boarding the plane were watching the whole time.

In the end, he managed to take the damaged suitcase with him, but before doing so, he cleaned up the pieces from the floor.

Netizens criticized the airline and staff for not allowing the man to carry the suitcase. They noted that some of the tourists in the video walked through with larger luggage, while the man was not forgiven for a few centimetres of external hard parts.
