TAP Air Portugal, the Portuguese national carrier, has announced the resumption of flights between Lisbon and Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonia. The service, which includes a stop in Belém, will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting from November 4th.

The return to Manaus marks TAP's presence in 13 capital cities and expands its routes in Brazil to 15, with 13 routes to Lisbon and two to Porto. TAP previously operated flights to Manaus between 2014 and 2016. Tickets are now available on flytap.com and through travel agencies, with promotional round-trip fares starting at 599 euros.

The CEO of TAP, Luís Rodrigues, emphasized the strategic importance of Brazil for the airline, highlighting recent route expansions, including the new service to Florianópolis. He stated that TAP aims to attract more tourists to Brazil from across its global network, offering connections to over 60 destinations in Europe and Africa via Lisbon and Porto.

Rodrigues reiterated TAP's commitment to maintaining its position as the leading international airline in Brazil. Currently, TAP operates 95 weekly flights to Brazil, averaging 13 flights per day from 13 Brazilian state capitals, despite the temporary suspension of flights to Porto Alegre during the summer.

TAP has been recognized for its service to South America, receiving the title of Europe's Leading Airline to South America by the World Travel Awards for 10 consecutive years. In 2023, it also won the MICE Award for Best European Company.

With the resumption of flights to Manaus, TAP continues to strengthen its extensive network in Brazil, offering direct flights from Lisbon to major cities including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis, and Manaus. The airline also connects Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, reinforcing its comprehensive connectivity between Portugal and Brazil.
