Air Transat revealed its 2026 summer lineup, broadening its international reach and transforming several once-seasonal routes into continuous year-round operations. The updated program strengthens air connections between Canada, Europe, and Latin America, offering passengers more chances to travel outside the usual peak periods. The expansion also benefits regional airports, giving travelers from Quebec City and Ottawa easier access to international destinations without needing to connect through Toronto or Montreal.

Recently launched and modified air routes:

  • Quebec City–Marseille: This flight operates every Thursday from May 21 to October 8, 2026, connecting eastern Canada with the south coast of France.
  • Quebec City–Marseille: Operates once a week every Thursday between May 21 and October 8, 2026, connecting eastern Canada with the south of France.
  • Ottawa – London Gatwick: Starting May 15, 2026, this direct route will run every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. This will be Air Transat's first transatlantic flight from Canada's capital.
  • Ottawa–Montreal: Operating from May 5 to October 23, 2026, this seasonal service enhances domestic connectivity and strengthens links for travelers heading abroad.

Those traveling to Marseille will discover one of France’s most ancient port cities, where centuries of history meet the calm and inviting spirit of the Mediterranean. The Vieux-Port, or Old Port, buzzes with lively markets, inviting cafes, and seafood spots, while just beyond lies Calanques National Park, where dramatic limestone cliffs and secluded inlets provide perfect settings for hiking or sailing adventures. From Marseille, it’s easy to get to Aix-en-Provence, well known for its artistic charm and lavender-scented countryside. There, Nice and Cannes welcome guests with the region’s signature Mediterranean atmosphere.

People visiting Martinique will experience a natural fusion of French heritage and Caribbean lifestyle. The island's Pelée volcano, Balata Gardens, and Anse Dufour beach create a striking contrast between the mountains and the sea. The capital, Fort-de-France, stands out for its bustling marketplaces, historical colonial structures, and vibrant musical traditions. Meanwhile, Air Transat's expansion in Colombia makes Cartagena and Medellin more accessible. Cartagena impresses with its walled city and Caribbean coastline, while the murals of Comuna 13, Botero Square, and metro cable rides in Medellín reveal a modern, artistic spirit surrounded by lush mountain scenery.

The 2026 network adjustments indicate a shift toward stable, year-round connectivity instead of seasonal scheduling. This strategy reflects broader industry trends that promote flexibility and consistent route availability. For travelers, this means easier access to destinations that combine cultural depth, natural beauty, and diverse climates throughout the year, encouraging travel outside the traditional summer season and promoting a more balanced global tourist flow.
