SAS to Reintroduce Business Class on Short-Haul European Flights by Summer 2025

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will reintroduce business class on its short-haul European flights starting in the summer of 2025. This move aligns SAS with Air France-KLM, which has taken a major stake in the Nordic airline. Currently, SAS offers "SAS Plus," a premium economy service with benefits like free Wi-Fi, snacks, and lounge access, but the upcoming business class will provide enhanced comfort and service.

While the new business class will use the same economy seats, the middle seat will be blocked off to create more space, and a curtain will divide the cabin for added privacy. Business class travelers will also enjoy improved food and beverage service, priority treatment on the ground, and lounge access.

The reintroduction of business class comes as SAS continues its post-bankruptcy recovery under the ownership of Air France-KLM. The move is aimed at catering to passengers who expect consistent service on all legs of their journey, including those connecting via long-haul flights with Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic as part of a revenue-sharing transatlantic joint venture.

In addition to this change, SAS is expanding its network, with 14 new European routes from Copenhagen and a new international flight to Seattle.
