Planes will start flying directly again between Cluj Napoca and Billund on 27 October 2025, bringing back a route that hasn’t operated since the beginning of 2023. The service will operate twice weekly, reconnecting Transylvania with central Denmark. This change helps people who’ve been asking for quicker ways to get between the two areas, especially those tired of changing planes at big European airports just to complete their journey.

The flights are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, offering a stable choice for travellers planning short-term visits, business engagements or family-related trips. With this route, travellers can skip long stopovers and get where they’re going without switching planes along the way. This straightforward schedule could help people in a hurry, cutting down how long the trip takes and avoiding the hassle of switching planes mid-journey.

Expanding the route network from Cluj-Napoca remains a priority for the airline, and the relaunch of flights to Billund reflects that ambition. Coming right after the announcement of the Castellon and Heraklion routes starting this summer season, the new service offers passengers even more choices for affordable travel, in line with Wizz Air’s Customer First Compass network-wide transformation plan. I am excited to welcome you on board our aircraft to even more wonderful destinations from Cluj Airport!

Cluj Napoca, located in northwestern Romania, includes notable urban features within walking distance of its central district. Simion Bărnuțiu Central Park is a leafy spot in the city where people often go for a walk, a run, or just to enjoy whatever’s happening outdoors during the different seasons. Just around the corner, the National Museum of Transylvanian History shows off old tools, artifacts, and everyday items that tell the story of how people in the region lived long ago and how things changed over time.

Billund offers visitor sites centred around creative exploration and interactive experiences. LEGOLAND is a well-known theme park that includes multiple zones, while the LEGO House features exhibit halls dedicated to design, innovation and the history of the building toy. Both locations are situated close to each other and are easily accessible from the town’s airport and central area.

Bringing this direct flight back makes it easier for people to get between Romania and Denmark without dealing with complicated or time-consuming travel plans. It’s been almost three years since people could fly straight between these places, and now they’ve got that option back making it easier to visit, move around, or stay connected between the two regions. Its return may support travel planning for those seeking consistent scheduling without added complexity.
