Nine New Marriott Properties Planned Across Egypt
Marriott International has agreed to develop nine hotels and branded residences across Egypt, covering Mediterranean and Red Sea resorts as well as new districts in Cairo. More than 1,500 rooms and residential units are planned under Ritz-Carlton, Luxury Collection and Autograph Collection brands. The projects remain at the planning stage, and Marriott has not yet confirmed opening dates, room rates or when bookings will begin.
Where Marriott’s New Egypt Properties Are Planned
- Ras Al Hekma: Ritz-Carlton hotel, 170 rooms; 268 residences
- Solare Ras El Hekma: Autograph Collection hotel, 180 rooms; 250 residences
- West Cairo: Luxury Collection hotel, 180 rooms; 180 residences
- Ain Sokhna: Autograph Collection hotel, 80 rooms; 172 residences
- East Cairo: Autograph Collection hotel, 100 rooms

The agreement covers several distinct types of trip rather than one resort cluster. Ras Al Hekma will add two high-end hotels on Egypt’s North Coast, while Ain Sokhna gains a smaller Red Sea property. In Cairo, planned hotels in Sphinx City and Garden 8 will serve visitors who want to stay outside the traditional central districts, including business travellers and longer-stay guests.
Ras Al Hekma is positioned for Mediterranean beach holidays east of Alexandria, while Ain Sokhna is close enough to Cairo for a short coastal extension before or after time in the capital. The Cairo hotels could make it easier to combine museums, historic neighbourhoods and newer developments without relying on a single base. Exact transport links and opening schedules still need confirmation.

Travellers planning future trips should wait for confirmed opening dates and compare the final locations carefully, especially on the North Coast, where resort areas are spread out. The strongest change will be more choice between city and beach stays under familiar brands.
