Newcastle Skiers Get Three Direct Routes to the Alps
Jet2 has opened bookings for its Winter 2027/28 ski programme from Newcastle International Airport, adding direct access to three Alpine gateways. The airline is targeting skiers and snowboarders in north-east England who want to arrange their trips well ahead of the season. More than 20,000 seats are available across flights to Chambéry, Geneva and Grenoble, covering resorts in France and Switzerland.

“We enjoyed another successful ski season last winter, and with skiers and snowboarders already looking ahead to Winter 27/28, we have responded by launching our ski programme for next winter from Newcastle Airport."
Flights will run at weekends, making the programme suitable for full-week holidays as well as shorter breaks. Jet2 includes a 10kg hand baggage allowance, while hold luggage and ski carriage can be added with allowances of up to 22kg each. Tickets are already on sale, giving travellers time to compare resort transfers, accommodation and equipment costs before winter packages become more limited.
Chambéry offers access to Courchevel and the wider French Alps, while Geneva serves both French and Swiss resorts including Tignes, Flaine, Verbier and Zermatt. Grenoble opens up routes towards Chamrousse, Les Deux Alpes, Alpe d’Huez and Avoriaz. The three-airport choice also helps travellers select the transfer that best matches their resort instead of relying on a single Alpine arrival point.
The weekend pattern makes the programme most useful for people who can build their trip around fixed Saturday or Sunday departures. Geneva has the broadest schedule, while Chambéry and Grenoble operate once a week. Before booking, compare transfer duration as carefully as the airfare, because a cheaper flight can lose its advantage if the chosen resort requires a long private transfer.
