airBaltic’s increased operations at Tallinn Airport aim to give travelers improved connectivity and a broader range of options for European travel. These schedule changes are intended to benefit travelers for work or leisure, giving access to a wider network across Europe. The developments underline Tallinn’s growing connectivity, ensuring that residents and travelers can access important European cities with greater ease all year.

Travelers can expect a variety of new and enhanced flight options for the upcoming summer season. From late March to late October 2026, airBaltic will introduce a number of new and expanded routes from Tallinn:

  • New direct flights: Athens, Hamburg, and Vienna - each operating twice weekly
  • Increased frequency on existing routes: Copenhagen (rising from 4 to 7 flights per week) and Munich (increasing from 5 to 6 weekly departures)
  • Overall network: direct connections from Tallinn to over 25 European destinations
“For Tallinn Airport, every new or returning destination is a major win. We’ve worked hard on the Hamburg route. In addition to leisure travelers, Hamburg’s addition will certainly strengthen our business ties with Germany and increase the number of German tourist groups."
Eero Pärgmäe, Member of the Management Board of Tallinn Airport

These new routes offer travelers access to a range of notable attractions. Travelers in Athens can wander the Acropolis, visit the Panathenaic Stadium, and take in the Temple of Olympian Zeus, getting a feel for the city’s historic landmarks. Those visiting Hamburg can visit the Speicherstadt warehouses, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Port, taking in both maritime heritage and modern city life. In Vienna, people can walk through Schönbrunn’s gardens, ride a few attractions at the Prater, and follow the Danube along its edge.

Higher flight frequencies also improve options for travelers on existing routes. In Copenhagen, passengers have easy access to Nyhavn harbor, Tivoli Gardens amusement park, and Christiansborg Palace, offering a range of city experiences. Munich offers access to the English Garden, Allianz Arena, and Viktualienmarkt food market, providing a variety of recreational and cultural experiences. These updates give passengers greater scheduling options, making it easier to arrange short trips or weekend excursions.

airBaltic’s 2026 schedule enhances Tallinn Airport’s role as a key European hub, giving passengers access to more destinations, increased flight frequencies, and easier travel options. With access to major landmarks, popular recreation areas, and scenic viewpoints, travelers can arrange both business and leisure trips more smoothly. The expansion strengthens Tallinn’s links to Europe, giving travelers easier and more convenient access to major cities across the continent.
