LOT Polish Airlines plans to start a direct flight connecting Warsaw in Poland with Stavanger in Norway, with operations beginning on November 24, 2025. The airline plans to run four weekly flights on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with each journey taking around two hours. This service broadens LOT’s European reach, giving passengers a nonstop link from Warsaw to Norway’s southwest coast, a region recognized for its industrial sector, maritime traditions, and scenic landscapes.

Stavanger lies in Rogaland County, an area noted for its significance in Norway's energy industry and its closeness to major tourist destinations. The city combines a historic old town with a bustling commercial port, making it a key hub for transportation. Attractions like Lysefjord, Preikestolen, and Kjerag position Stavanger as a popular launch point for travelers from within Norway and abroad exploring the southwest region.

“With this connection, we are not only opening up new opportunities for tourists wishing to explore Norway's extraordinary landscapes, but are also responding to the needs of a large group of Polish professionals working in the Stavanger region.“
Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines

This route is anticipated to shorten overall travel time between Poland and southwestern Norway by removing the requirement to transfer through other European cities. It offers a more direct option for people visiting the region for tourism or business purposes. This new route meets rising demand for improved air connections to secondary destinations, boosting convenience and travel efficiency between Central and Northern Europe.

The Warsaw–Stavanger route also shows a shift toward connecting regional cities instead of just major capitals, reflecting changing travel patterns. Stavanger attracts a mix of visitors, serving simultaneously as a vibrant cultural spot and an important center for Norway’s oil industry. These regular flights are expected to serve professionals who commute daily, Poles working in Norway, and tourists attracted by hiking, fjords, and marine entertainment. LOT offers flights throughout the year, designed to smoothly meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers.

This move highlights a larger trend in European aviation, where airlines are building stronger connections between medium-sized cities to handle increasing passenger demand. For travelers, the direct route reduces complexity in trip planning and encourages more efficient mobility across regions. This route not only expands options for vacationers but also supports business travelers, demonstrating how effective connectivity can enhance local economies and foster cultural interaction.
