New European and North American Destinations from Zurich in 2025
Zurich Airport will activate its 2025 summer schedule from 30 March to 25 October, offering travellers access to 206 destinations served by 63 different airlines. The season brings an increase in both European and intercontinental flights, with new services introduced by SWISS, Edelweiss, easyJet, and Etihad Airways. The expansion is aimed at meeting growing demand for leisure and business travel during peak months.
Several notable additions include SWISS flights to Dubrovnik, Montpellier, Niš, and Heringsdorf, while Edelweiss will connect Zurich with Tbilisi, Zadar, Calvi, and Terceira. Long-haul highlights include Edelweiss’ new direct services to Seattle and Halifax, and a daily Delta route to Atlanta resuming mid-May. Etihad will boost its Middle East service by operating two daily flights to Abu Dhabi starting in July.
For travellers eager to explore less tourist-heavy regions, these changes open the door to places rich in natural and cultural heritage. Heringsdorf on Germany’s Baltic coast offers quiet seaside escapes, while Niš introduces access to Serbia’s historical fortresses and Ottoman architecture. Terceira, now reachable via Edelweiss, offers volcanic hiking trails, whale watching, and vibrant Azorean traditions.
Those headed across the Atlantic benefit from faster access to underexplored parts of North America. Seattle links travellers with the Pacific Northwest’s national parks, coastal drives, and tech hubs, while Halifax provides an ideal entry point to Canada’s maritime provinces, famed for rugged shorelines, seafood, and historic fishing villages. These new links offer alternatives to the more crowded hubs in the U.S. and Canada.
