A new seasonal air connection between Montréal and Edinburgh began operating on June 26 and is expected to run until early September. The direct service offers travellers a non-stop option between two cities with strong cultural identities and growing international visitor numbers. It enters service during the peak of summer demand, when travel to mid-sized destinations tends to increase across the Atlantic.

This addition strengthens air links between Canada and the UK beyond the usual London-focused routes. By connecting cities that are both regional hubs with walkable centres and accessible airports, the route supports more decentralised travel patterns. This route is a practical choice for travellers who prefer to skip long transfers and crowded hub airports, making their journey quicker and easier to organise.

Those arriving in Montréal will also find outdoor spaces woven into the structure of the city itself. Mount Royal Park, laid out by the same designer behind New York’s Central Park, stretches across the city’s hilltop with forest paths, viewpoints over the skyline, and wide lawns where locals gather during warmer months. Just south of the Old Port, the Lachine Canal pathway runs alongside the water and is popular for walking or cycling, with access to cafés and local markets along the way.

If you're flying from Montréal to Edinburgh, you'll find that many of the city's most scenic and historic spots are just a short walk from the centre. Arthur’s Seat is a quiet hill with a volcanic past, rising above the city and giving travellers open-air trails and sweeping views, whether you're up for a slow stroll or a more energetic climb. Just around the corner, the Royal Botanic Garden offers a calm place to walk among plants from Scotland and far beyond, and you won’t need a car to get there.

This route reflects a broader trend toward targeted, seasonal air links that prioritise accessibility over volume. For travellers, it means fewer complications and more time at the destination itself. As demand continues to shift toward point-to-point connections, especially in the summer months, routes like Montréal to Edinburgh help meet changing expectations for efficiency and directness.
