British Airways will broaden its Heathrow and Gatwick schedules ahead of the 2026 summer travel season. The airline intends to introduce additional services to multiple long-haul destinations across Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, reflecting rising passenger demand. The adjustments aim to give travellers greater flexibility and a wider selection of flights, simplifying the planning of both leisure and business trips next year.

A key development sees British Airways offering flights to Bangkok from Gatwick throughout the year, rather than only in winter. Key details include:

  • Three weekly flights in summer and six weekly flights in winter
  • Nearly 60,000 additional seats offered annually
  • Seamless connections via Bangkok Airways to Phuket and Phnom Penh
  • Increased flights to Kingston, Jamaica, up to four per week

These changes increase travel choices for passengers flying between London, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean, allowing more flexibility in trip planning.

“Whether customers are travelling for business, leisure, or visiting loved ones, we hope they take advantage of these additional flights, which offer greater choice and convenience, making it easier than ever to connect with their favourite destinations around the world."
British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff

Passengers travelling to North America will now have easier access to popular attractions. From Miami, visitors can enjoy South Beach, the Bayside Marketplace, and the Art Deco Historic District. Las Vegas flights make the Las Vegas Strip, Fremont Street Experience, and Red Rock Canyon more accessible. The new services to San Diego make it easier to explore Balboa Park, La Jolla Cove, and the Gaslamp Quarter, providing more choices for summer travel.

Middle Eastern destinations will also see improved accessibility. Daily flights to Bahrain provide easy travel to the Bahrain International Circuit, Al-Fateh Grand Mosque, and the Tree of Life. Travellers heading to Riyadh can now explore key sites including Kingdom Centre Tower, Wadi Hanifah, and Al Masmak Fortress. Passengers flying to Doha can now access popular spots like Souq Waqif, Katara Beach, and The Pearl-Qatar more easily. These added connections make it easier for travellers to plan their trips and visit key landmarks in the region.

With these changes, international travellers will benefit from easier connections and more flexible scheduling in 2026. With more frequent services and additional seat availability, passengers can better plan multi-destination trips, combining long-haul and regional journeys. These network changes also simplify planning summer vacations and longer trips, offering travellers wider access to popular destinations around the world.
